family visitors part 1

Bjorn's parents joined us for a long weekend in March- mostly to see Gabriel of course- but we used their time here to play as well!  Gabe had his first restaurant experience (not sleeping in his car seat) at Cracker Barrell.  He liked my sweet potatoes.  I always have fun looking around that country store with Deb! We also went swimming at a super crowded pool, but Gabe looked cute anyway:).  The majority of Saturday was spent remodeling our bathroom. Bjorn and I had painted and put up new fixtures before they came- but he wanted his Dad's help to redo the floor. It was a mess!  As they went to pull up the floor, they found two layers of linoleum instead of one!  Putting in the new "snap-together-sheets" was not as quick and easy as the package led us to believe.  As with many housework projects, it took much more time, money and effort than planned.  On an upnote- this is the most troublesome project we have encountered thus far.  Our roof was cheap and fast to replace (Bjorn basically did it by himself last summer), and we have repainted all of the upstairs bedrooms now.  Everything has gone smoothly until the bathroom!

We played a lot of games and had lots of yummy food and treats.  My favorite was the easter egg rice krispies.  The whole family pitched in to help me make them as I needed to put Gabriel to bed right in the middle of the project.  They are some what cute, and still delicious.

lucky number seven!

7-months and crawling!
In between visits from family Gabriel started and then perfected the art of crawling.  He also learned to go up stairs..... we are working on the "coming down" part.  He is eating lots of yummy (if any green or orange pureed food can be called yummy) baby foods and loves baby cereals as well.  Bananas are still a top favorite.
He loved seeing his grandparents and various aunts and uncles this month, also 2 boy cousins close to his age- Dainen and Jack.  I hope they will be good buds when they are older. For now we just try to keep them from knocking each other over.

Half way there!

SIX MONTHS!

Gabriel is quite the charmer! We love his smile and his easy-going personality.  As he becomes more mobile he is starting to get into mischief.... becoming more and more like his Daddy every day.

The G-list:

hair color:  dark blonde with red highlights

best picture face:  when he sticks out his tongue JUST a little bit

favorite vacation:  Driggs, ID (with skiing at Grand Targhee, WY). He loved being with grandma and grandpa and Auntie M.  Grandma read to him and gave him some books, and Grandpa fed him banana. They bonded.  AND he got to ski with me up and down the magic carpet/bunny hill

favorite time of day:  when daddy (or mommy if she is gone) comes home from work!

favorite bedtime story:  um.... the shortest one?  We both like Snuggle Puppy by Sandra Boynton.  He likes it 'cause I sing it to him.  Franklin and the Tooth Fairy still cracks me up.  Everywhere Babies is another top favorite.
