What a Blessing are little boys

Gabriel was given a name and a blessing by his father (Bjorn) in our church on September 30th.

It was a short, sweet moment.  But marked quite a milestone for us.  How many other baby blessings have I been to?  Now it was finally time to have our own posterity up there.

Bjorn looked snazzy in his suit.  Gabe looked delightful, pue, and delicious in his white knit onesie/jumpsuit.  and I looked tired.

We were most appreciative of all the wonderful people who came to the special  event to show their love and support.

Aunt Marcelle hosted a luncheon for all the guests. I planned the menu.  We enjoyed "little boy" foods:  pizza bites, pigs in a blanket, chocolate milk, worms in dirt, swedish fish in blue jello (which didn't turn out as well as I had hoped)  and cupcakes decorated like sports balls  (those didn't turn out so good either... but it was fun to try!)  And mommy's favorite luncheon foods: stuffed ham sandwiches, salad, and V8 splash.

Bjorns parents came down from WA for the event.  We had a great weekend with them spoiling us and appreciated all their help with the luncheon- as well as letting use the hotel pool :)

too many pictures of our one-month old

hi! I'm one month old and I am learning how to smile!

more smiles from my one month old!

The pictures say it all.  My life is consumed with taking care of this little dude. Luckily, I am succeeding. He is gaining weight and reaching milestones.  Bjorn is a great help and loves coming home to play with his little dude.
Gabe continues to be mild mannered, taking everything in.  He sleeps pretty good still- waking only to eat.  Except for the rare occasion mommy finds herself and baby curled up on the couch together at 6 am... unsure of when and how they got there.  We love our Gabey Baby!

Our All-Star

We are thrilled to have Gabriel James Graham as part of our family! This little dude is as chill as newborns come.  Since his birth we have been inundated with his copious hair (which makes him look older) and his beautiful eyes. His long "Murray" toes and cute cry/squak.  Oh how I love curling up on the couch with him, or watching him lay on my chest as we doze.

He eats well, sleeps well (wakes 2-3times a night and goes right back to sleep afetr he eats), and loves the car.  What's there to complain about.  Bjorn and I are adjusting to our new roles.  Making time for each other, jobs, hobbies, and sleep, on top of taking care of baby Gabe.

Gabe's stats:

age:  2 1/2 weeks

weight:  8 lbs. 6 oz.

nicknames:  "Gabe-a-licious"  and "little dude"

eye color:  definitely becoming more blue.... but still too early to tell for sure

hair color:  light brown, and lightening up

favorite trick:  he rolled over today! after 20 minutes of tummy time where he stretched his legs and talked- I went to the kitchen to put something in the oven, and when I got back to the living room he was on his back!  Ahhhh! Does that count as rolling over?

favorite food: mommy's milk

length of his longest toe:  3/4 inch

favorite outing:  Jordanelle reservoir  (he slept while I held him in a camp chair most all day).  Shopping at Target is a close second.

biggest accomplishment:  dirtying 6 diapers, 4 blankets, 2 outfits, and 2 of mommy's tops in 2.5 hours flat
